Since 2005, Alice J. Davis Garden Apartments have been centered around the historic home of Alice J. Davis who started Tahlequah’s first nursing home in 1954.  Now her son Veraman and wife Billie have transformed her home and the surrounding grounds into a beautifully landscaped retirement community made up primarily of two-bedroom duplexes with attached garages.  Since Granny Davis was also known for her “green thumb”, each duplex unit contains its own back yard garden site for flowers, vegetables or whatever planting and decorating your heart desires.
 
These modern duplexes are designed specifically for retirees and working professionals who wish to retain independent living in a lighted and secure garden community.  Adjoining the historic home site are eleven duplex units that make up twenty-six (26) homes.  Most of the back yards have wood-slat privacy fencing suitable to provide added security, privacy and safety for a small pet.

Two-bedroom duplex units are $750 - $800 per month with a $500 deposit and one-year lease agreement.  

Pet deposits are $500 and non-refundable with a one pet limit of no more than 20 pounds (approved breeds only).  Smoking is allowed in select units with a $300 non-refundable deposit.  In the historic home, some one-bedroom units are available.
